Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-25. These terms govern your use of Expensely. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
1. The service
Expensely provides a software-as-a-service expense-tracking product, including web and mobile apps, OCR, voice entry, AI insights, multi-currency books and team collaboration features (the "Service").
2. Account and eligibility
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for the security of your password.
- One person per individual account; one entity per workspace on Team plans.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose, including money laundering or tax evasion.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape or otherwise misuse the Service.
- Upload malware, illegal content or content that violates third-party rights.
- Attempt to access another user's account or workspace without authorisation.
- Resell the Service without a written reseller agreement.
4. Billing and refunds
- The Free plan is permanent and requires no payment.
- Paid plans (Solo, Team) are billed monthly or annually in advance.
- Charges renew automatically until you cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Every paid charge is covered by our 14-day refund policy — no questions, no conditions, no exceptions. See /refund for full details.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice; existing paid subscribers keep their current rate until the next renewal.
5. Your data
- You own your transactions, vendors, categories, receipts and all data you create in Expensely.
- You can export your data any time in CSV or PDF.
- We process your data per our Privacy Policy.
- You grant us a limited licence to process your data solely to provide and improve the Service.
6. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, models and trademarks, is owned by Expensely. You may use it only as permitted by these terms. We grant you no other rights.
7. Availability and changes
- We aim for 99.9% monthly uptime. We don't offer formal SLAs on the Free and Solo plans; Team plan customers get our published SLA.
- We may add, change or remove features. We'll notify you in advance of material changes that reduce functionality.
- Scheduled maintenance is announced via in-app notification at least 24 hours in advance.
8. Termination
- You can cancel any time from your dashboard.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
- On termination, you can export your data for 30 days, after which it is deleted (except where legally required to retain).
9. Disclaimers
Expensely is provided "as is". We do not provide accounting, legal or tax advice. AI insights are informational; you are responsible for the financial decisions you make. We disclaim all implied warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability under these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Expensely against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, breach of these terms, or violation of third-party rights.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Karachi, except where local consumer-protection law mandates otherwise.
