The expense tracker built for Pakistan.
Most expense trackers are built for the US. They assume USD, English receipts, integration with Plaid, and a tax calendar that ends in April. We are built in Karachi by a team that lives the actual problem: chai chits, kiryana store slips on thermal paper, vendor invoices in Urdu, USD freelance income hitting a rupee account, and an accountant who needs a clean export every quarter. Expensely is the AI expense tracker for Pakistan โ PKR-first, Urdu-fluent, small-business-shaped.
What makes it Pakistani
- PKR-first books. Your home currency is rupees. Every dashboard, export and forecast is denominated in PKR by default. USD, GBP, AED and other inflows are converted automatically using live FX rates.
- Urdu OCR. Snap a kiryana receipt printed in Urdu, or a hotel invoice in mixed Urdu/English โ the OCR pulls vendor, amount and date correctly. Thermal paper, crumpled, low light: all fine.
- Local categories. Categories like fuel, mobile load, utility bills (K-Electric, SSGC, SNGPL), kiryana, chai/biryani, ride-hail (Careem, InDrive) and online shopping (Daraz) are pre-loaded.
- GST and sales-tax aware. Capture tax per transaction. Tag GST-registered vendors. Exports are accountant-ready.
- USD freelance flows. If you bill clients in Upwork, Wise or direct USD wires, Expensely tracks income in USD and translates to PKR for your accountant.
- Accountant collaboration. Invite your CA as a contributor or read-only role. They pull their own quarterly exports โ no more emailing CSVs back and forth.
Built for these Pakistani jobs
Freelancers in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad
You bill US or European clients in USD on Upwork, Fiverr or direct contracts. Your expenses โ fuel, lunch, coworking, AWS โ are mostly in PKR. Expensely keeps both sides of the ledger straight and shows you what your effective hourly rate looks like after expenses, in your home currency.
Small businesses (5โ50 employees)
You have a small team in DHA, Gulberg or F-10. Your operations manager logs petty cash, your founders charge cards, your accountant reconciles monthly. Expensely Team gives every person the right role, requires approvals over a threshold, keeps a 90-day audit log, and prints a board-ready quarterly export.
Restaurants, retailers and service businesses
You have stacks of paper receipts from suppliers, utilities, and small purchases. The OCR app on your phone digitises them in seconds. Categorise once, never again. Your kiryana-style supplier list becomes a queryable vendor table.
Households and family books
Plenty of Pakistani families run shared monthly books โ utilities, grocery, school fees, fuel. Expensely's Solo plan handles a household perfectly: multi-user via shared workspace on Team, or single-user via Solo with categorised export each month.
